New Bedford, MA
Go visit New Bedford for a brief day trip or spend 36 hours in the old Whaling City. There's got to be something worthwhile on the banks of the Acushnet River for The New York Times to rhapsodize about it on two separate occasions in the past six months.

OK. So when you come home we are going to do a walk through of this guy's timeline starting at 2pm at the Whaling Museum. His little venture in the area actually makes home seem like a not-so-bad place to be. We'll do our walking tour as usual and go visit our friend at the Chamber of Commerce...and then we are off. We have a lot to see and experience! Make sure you bring your camera...I feel a documentary in the making! This time I will be the host.
Yeah, I knew we were ahead of the curve when we toured the city that afternoon. But you're right, it is imbued with new reverence once the NYT writes about it. Did you catch the picture of Poverty

Oxford St., yeah. And I'm willing to bet that the reporter and the photographer from the NYT stayed at the bed-and-breakfast at the end of the road accross from the Bonnoyer's house. It would explain why they photographed those houses instead of grander ones in the center or at Fort Phoenix.
You're probably right. If he had gone down to the Fort there would no mention of Poverty Point.
